Lebanon- On Thursday evening, approximately 100 elected members of the Lebanon County Republican Committee gathered at the Lincoln Republican Club in downtown Lebanon for their annual endorsement meeting.
Committee members overwhelmingly voted to endorse the conservative Republican team of Bob Phillips and Bill Bering for County Commissioners and Donna Long Brightbill for Lebanon County Judge on the Court of Common Pleas.
“Bob and Bill bring a unique combination of experience and energy to the County Commissioners race that we have not seen for many years in Lebanon County,” said Lebanon GOP Chairman Bill Bova.
“Their conservative vision for the future of Lebanon County resonated tremendously with committee members as it will with Republican voters on Primary Election Day, May 16,” Bova explained.
“We are honored and humbled to receive the support of our hardworking Lebanon County Republican Committee members,” said Phillips and Bering in a joint statement.
“We look forward to meeting with voters over the next couple of months to share our priorities and vision for the county, which include restoring integrity to our election process and protecting citizens’ personal freedom and individual liberty,” they concluded.
Long Brightbill scored a resounding victory over two opponents who both plan to cross-file and run on the Democrat ballot.
“Lebanon County Republicans want a judge they can trust. It was very encouraging that Donna chose to stand behind her conservative values and only run on the Republican ticket this primary,” Bova explained.
“I would like to thank the Republican Committee for their faith in me and I am ready to put my vast legal experience to work for all the great citizens of Lebanon County,” stated Brightbill.
“A judge’s job is to hold criminals accountable, interpret the law as written and not legislate from the bench and that is exactly what I plan to do as your next Judge,” she said.
The committee also unanimously endorsed retired federal agent Mike Corricelli for Magisterial District Judge in a district that covers Cold Spring, East Hanover, North Londonderry and South Londonderry Townships, as well as Palmyra Borough.
All five Republican Lebanon County row officers are running unopposed in the primary election and received unanimous support from the committee.
They are Prothonotary/Clerk of Courts Barb Smith, Recorder of Deeds Dawn Blauch, Controller Bob Mettley, Treasurer Sallie Neuin and Coroner Dr. Jeffrey Yocum.
